Fiverr acquires AutoDS, enhancing eCommerce capabilities

Fiverr has taken a significant step in enhancing its eCommerce capabilities by acquiring AutoDS, a company specializing in subscription-based solutions for dropshippers. This acquisition is expected to integrate thousands of dropshippers into Fiverr’s ecosystem and bolster its market position in website development and social media marketing.

AutoDS provides a comprehensive suite of tools for product research, inventory management, and automated fulfillment. With over 150 million aggregated products, it serves tens of thousands of paying subscribers. Micha Kaufman, founder and CEO of Fiverr, remarked that dropshipping, alongside marketing and programming services, represents one of the fastest-growing segments on Fiverr. He highlighted that this move is part of Fiverr’s broader strategy to transform from a mere marketplace into a platform that delivers not just access to talent, but also integrated software solutions.

The merger resonates well with AutoDS leaders, who see the acquisition as an opportunity to leverage Fiverr’s global brand recognition. Co-founder Lior Pozin expressed confidence in the alignment of their audiences—entrepreneurs eager to grow their businesses. Together, they aim to streamline the dropshipping process and enhance operational efficiencies.

The global dropshipping market, valued at USD 285 billion in 2023, is projected to exceed USD 2 trillion by 2033. Fiverr’s acquisition is poised to create synergies that will not only grow AutoDS but also add a new subscription-based revenue stream to Fiverr’s portfolio. As it stands, this acquisition not only represents a strategic business expansion but also promises to deliver advanced tools and resources to entrepreneurs navigating the complex eCommerce landscape, particularly in Australia. This partnership is set to empower small businesses, positioning Fiverr to become a leading player in the rapidly growing eCommerce sector.
