Natural Grocers Set to Open Relocated Store in Reno

Natural Grocers is set to welcome its community back to a revamped shopping experience in Reno, Nevada. Their new store will officially open on October 24, just a short distance from the previous location. This transition comes as part of a broader strategy by the family-operated organic and natural food retailer to expand and enhance its presence in markets across the United States.

The upcoming grand opening in the Redfield Promenade Shopping Center promises to be an event filled with excitement for eager customers. The opening day will feature a ceremonial ribbon cutting, along with an array of discounts, samples, and giveaways to attract shoppers. Notably, the first 150 customers in line will be able to collect secret Natural Grocers gift cards, with rewards ranging from $5 to as much as $500. Additionally, the first 500 shoppers will receive a handcrafted Ecuadorian drawstring backpack, crafted from eco-friendly alpaca wool.

Natural Grocers is taking advantage of the new location to enhance the overall shopping experience it offers. The store is characterized by a contemporary floor plan, which is not only more spacious but also better illuminated—a reflection of the company’s commitment to sustainability. Noteworthy upgrades include the use of non-toxic building materials and the implementation of 100% LED lighting throughout the store.

Beyond the aesthetic enhancements, customers will find a broader selection of products. The store will feature an expansive assortment of 100% organic produce, health, wellness, and body care items, as well as an increased variety of vitamins and supplements. This effort aligns with Natural Grocers’ long-standing mission to support the health of both the individual and the planet.

As Raquel Isely, the Vice President of Natural Grocers, stated, “Natural Grocers has been proudly serving the state of Nevada since 2014 when we opened our first store in Reno. We have been thankful for our loyal customer base and our amazing Crew.” This sentiment echoes the company’s dedication to its community, further emphasized by its initiative to donate $2,500 to the Food Bank of Northern Nevada to celebrate the store’s opening.

The relocation of the Reno store is particularly significant given its proximity to the close of the previous location at 4819 Kietzke Lane, which will cease operations on October 21. This move reflects Natural Grocers’ assessment of market performance and customer needs, a common practice in the retail industry. Notably, the company recently relocated another store in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, while also closing a less successful branch in downtown Denver due to ongoing theft issues and safety concerns common in urban retail settings.

Natural Grocers operates over 160 locations across 21 states and has made its mark as a significant player in the natural and organic grocery sector. Recognized as No. 95 on The PG 100, Progressive Grocer’s 2024 list of the top food and consumable retailers in North America, the company continues to expand its footprint and community engagement efforts.

In conclusion, the new Natural Grocers location in Reno is more than just a store; it symbolizes a commitment to community, health, and sustainability. With an inviting atmosphere and a wider selection of products, the grand opening is not just a celebratory event but an invitation for the community to engage with a retailer that values its customers’ health and well-being. For anyone in the Reno area, this is more than a shopping trip; it is an opportunity to partake in a new chapter of local grocery retail.
