Loblaw Grocery Stores Offer Free Marvel Superhero Trading Cards

Loblaw Cos. Ltd. has announced an exciting new promotion in collaboration with Marvel, set to engage customers and enhance their shopping experience. Beginning August 1, shoppers at Loblaw’s various banners across Canada—including No Frills, The Real Canadian Superstore, Maxi, and more—will receive free Marvel superhero trading cards with purchases of CAD $25 or more. This offer includes a total of 90 unique character and badge cards, with each pack containing four cards.

For just CAD $5, customers have the option to purchase a collector’s album, designed to hold the cards and promote sustainable practices, as both the cards and albums are crafted from 100% FSC-certified recyclable paper.

In addition, select stores will host themed events like a Marvel word-puzzle scavenger hunt and costume contests featuring popular characters such as Spider-Man and the Avengers. One lucky customer will also win a remarkable prize: a trip for four to the Los Angeles premiere of Marvel Studios’ “Captain America: Brave New World,” complete with flights, accommodations, and a Hollywood tour.

Mary MacIsaac, SVP of Marketing and Control Brands at Loblaw, highlighted the intent behind the promotion: “We’re always looking for new ways to show our gratitude to Canadians.” This strategy not only boosts customer engagement but also aligns with market trends that emphasize experiential promotions in retail.

Through this partnership, Loblaw aims to provide an entertaining twist to everyday grocery shopping, further solidifying its position as Canada’s largest retailer and a leader in innovation within the grocery sector. With over 2,500 stores and more than one billion transactions yearly, Loblaw is poised to make this initiative a success.
