Gelson’s Markets has partnered with the nonprofit Brighter Bites and Zespri Kiwifruit for an exciting promotional initiative from August 14 to August 27, 2024. For every 1-pound package of Zespri SunGold Kiwi purchased, both Gelson’s and Zespri will donate $1 each, totaling $2 directed toward Brighter Bites’ mission. This collaboration marks the second year of their partnership, reinforcing their commitment to community health and nutrition.
Sean Saenz, VP of fresh foods at Gelson’s, shared his enthusiasm: “This initiative aligns with our commitment to offering high-quality products and supporting the health and well-being of our local communities.” Brighter Bites aims to foster healthy communities through fresh produce access and nutrition education, reaching over 1 million individuals since its inception in 2012.
The 2023 promotion successfully raised $2,500, enabling Brighter Bites to provide fresh food and educational resources. Jeanne Wilson, head of marketing for Zespri North America, emphasized the dual benefits of Zespri SunGold Kiwifruit as not only a delicious option but also a vehicle for improving children’s health.
