Grubhub has recently made significant updates to its app, aimed at enhancing the overall user experience by offering features that streamline food ordering. These enhancements focus on personalization, order tracking, and faster delivery, ensuring a seamless process for customers.
One of the standout features is Homepage Personalization. Grubhub now showcases over 30 personalized recommendation carousels on its homepage, making it easier for users to find their preferred cuisines or new merchants nearby. This is powered by advanced algorithms that analyze users’ historical click-through rates, order patterns, and even the time of day, allowing Grubhub to offer relevant suggestions tailored for individual needs.
Another notable addition is the Wallet feature, which conveniently aggregates various credits tied to a user’s account. This straightforward overview enables users to easily view their credits, whether from gift cards or Grubhub+ subscriptions, before finalizing an order.
The introduction of Add-On Recommendations at Checkout signifies Grubhub’s responsiveness to customer feedback. Users can now see suggestions for additional menu items while reviewing their cart, encouraging them to explore new options.
Priority Delivery is another enhancement that caters to customers eager for speed. For a small fee, users can opt for quicker delivery times, which is particularly advantageous during peak hours.
Additionally, Grubhub has implemented Live Activity Tracking, allowing users to monitor their order’s progress in real-time from their mobile devices. This update improves transparency, reducing customer anxiety around wait times.
Lastly, with the Self-Service Order Not Received feature, customers can address issues directly through the app, making it simpler to request redelivery or refunds without the need for direct agent interaction.
“With the speed that technology and user expectations change today, advancements that keep Grubhub ahead of the curve and strengthen the user experience are crucial,” stated Kiran Chandran, Grubhub’s VP of Consumer Product. The company plans to introduce further updates throughout the year, continuously refining the user journey in the competitive food delivery market.
