FedEx expands International Connect Plus service to new regions

FedEx has taken a significant step in enhancing its service offerings by expanding the FedEx International Connect Plus (FICP) to new destinations across the United States and Europe. Initially designed for Asia-Pacific e-tailers, this service will now cater to merchants in key markets including China, Hong Kong SAR, and Japan, with plans for further expansion planned later this year.

Salil Chari, Senior Vice President of Marketing & Customer Experience, Asia Pacific at FedEx, emphasizes that FICP effectively balances expedited delivery with affordability. The service boasts delivery times of just two to three business days for most shipments, addressing one of the key challenges e-commerce businesses face when entering international markets.

Businesses can save significantly, while customers enjoy options like package pickup from numerous locations and the ability to adjust delivery details. These features promote a streamlined and user-friendly shopping experience that customers increasingly demand.

In addition to the improved shipping experience, FedEx has rolled out cross-border e-commerce handbooks for merchants in China and Japan and introduced innovative services such as Picture Proof of Delivery. Such initiatives are aimed at enhancing the overall customer experience, ensuring that merchants are well-equipped to navigate the complexities of international shipping.
