The Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) has reached a remarkable milestone, processing 12 million orders in July alone. This achievement reflects the network’s growing footprint in the e-commerce sector, now supported by approximately 630,000 sellers and service providers across 600 cities, with deliveries extending to 1,200 locations nationwide.
A significant portion of these orders—approximately 4.4 million—emerged from the mobility domain, while the non-mobility sector accounted for 7.6 million orders. The food and beverages sector alone contributed 1.7 million transactions, followed closely by grocery at 1.4 million and fashion at 0.6 million. The remaining orders stemmed from logistics, beauty and personal care, home and kitchen products, and retail vouchers.
Additionally, an independent study highlights ONDC’s 18% market share in Bengaluru for food and beverages, and a 3% share at the national level. This growing acceptance indicates a robust market presence, facilitated by a diverse range of product categories, including the recent introduction of auto components and accessories, notably featuring sellers like Ess Aay Automotive.
As ONDC continues to innovate within the digital commerce landscape, its success serves as a testimony to the potential of collaborative network models in the e-commerce environment, paving the way for enhanced consumer choice and convenience.
